Hi, I'm sure this has been asked before but I can't figure it out.

I see the quote button on posts and when I click it it goes into my post but then when i want to add my own text it comes out as if it's all the quote if you know what I mean. (ie my own text comes out in italics on the blue background)

How do I quote someone and have it in a little box and then make a comment on it below?

    please help
    thanks

click the quote button and there should be quote brackets like that
    "random"
, just type outside those brackets to enter your own text

Or if using Quick Reply check the "Quote message in reply" box.

the quote tags are [ quote ] and [/quote]

everything between the two will be put in a quote so to fix this, just put a [ /quote ] after the first bit you want to quote, then your comment, then [ quote ] when you want to quote some more of the post. with me?

ok i think i see. I had tried to quote someone, but then deleted some of it and I might have typed inside the quote bracket.

    thanks for the help
