Bodog sponsors The Waterford Open 2008
European ranking and a €120,000+ prize pool up for grabs
    www.bodoglife.net/poker

Bodog is packing its bags and jumping on a plane for a long weekend in sunny Ireland as it announces exclusive sponsorship of The Waterford Open 2008. The Bodog Waterford Open will be the first of many Bodog sponsored events in Europe.

The No Limit Hold'em main event is a European ranking tournament being held at the Majestic Hotel in Tramore from June 12th-15th. A series of side events will also run with the prize pool an estimated €120,000. Buy in for the main event is €500+50.

Players will be able to sample the many delights of Waterford including a race course, several pubs, two mountain ranges and stunning scenery! Players will also be able to dip their toes into the Bodog lifestyle by chilling out in the Bodog Lounge and admiring the scenery in the form of the famous Bodog Girls.

If a trip to Ireland to join over 200 poker players in Waterford’s biggest poker tournament takes your fancy Bodog is running a freeroll on June 8th at 6pm GMT and a series of qualifiers from June 8th-11th at 8pm GMT at www.bodoglife.net.

Buy-In for the qualifiers is €50+5 with one seat being offered for every €550 in the prize pool.

For a chance to win a seat at the Waterford Open, players should register at www.bodoglife.net/poker and play in the Bodog Waterford Open Freeroll or the Waterford Open Qualifiers. Players can pre-register at Bodog from today.

While I haven't been in the Majestic in a long time so don't quite know what the layout of the hotel is, I'd imagine Bodog will be transforming an area of the hotel and fill it up with models like here.

When they add there name to a tournament they should be adding cash and or maybe a package to some bigger tournament. just look at LADBROKES and the Eglington tournaments......... adding packages with a high value to every tournament and there not looking for 200+ runners (thousands added)

If they are getting all this exposure to a new market then they should be paying for it...........? if there is a problem getting them to SPONSOR these events with added cash or prizes then you need to get someone with a marketing background involved.

Of course the're paying for it!! You don't seriously think it's costing them nothing,it's pretty obvious the monies will not be going to the players but elsewhere...... Agree, adding a package or whatnot would be a nice touch and smarter marketing than chucking all the cash at the organisers.
