I got a pretty high spec xps last october.

since then I had several calls to dell with problems.

glitching on screen- tech changed screen and mobo.

wifi went kaput - got new wi fi card.

hard drive went - got new hard drive (but this was my fault for shutting the computer down...:p)

now, I am quite happy with the laptop itself, it performs pretty perfect and cost alot of cash. but I got the new hard drive just today and the dell xps support is second to none.

I noticed quite a bit ago a dead pixel on the screen. just now I had another look, it shows up on a white back drop, I tried to touch it up with my finger to bring it back to life but nada, its a relatively small dead pixel. but still there none the less.

You would hardly notice it in fairness, I mean to an outsider the screeen looks perfect.

should I get onto dell (again) for this?!

I doubt Dell would replace it straight up, I believe there has to be a minimum of 5 dead/stuck pixels to warrant a unit "defective". Try your luck sure, the worst they can say is no.

I believe they will only replace it if there are 4 or more? could be 3, but they generally wont change the screen for the sake of one dead pixel though. I'd still give them a buzz and see what they say, since you've had to go back to them a lot with various problems they might be nice!

If the laptop has 3 f ups, they will look at giving you a replacement. They did with my M1330

what constitutes a 'pixel'? considering the resolution of this screen and the cost, one pixel would probably be miniscule in size and the 'dead pixel' im referring to could contain say 10 actual pixels!?
