fwiw, my wife sold her DT last year. 1980, monoshock, black, perfect.

    And no, they're not cheap anymore - € 1600.

She still has her 1G1 DT - twin shock, though, and that's NOT for sale - needs tlc. oh, and an exhaust.

Most 80s two-strokes would have died a death years ago...

In Cavan there was a great fire / Judge McCarthy was sent to inquire / It would be a shame / If the nuns were to blame / So it had to be caused by a wire.

Give Tims Off Road a bell. While he specialises in scramblers for competition purposes more so, he might be able to point you the right way.

Would have to agree with Ninja though...

They pop up in the Buy and Sell from time to time but like galwaytt says, they are making silly money and parts are getting hard to find. I owned several DT/RD/AR's in the 80's and I have to ask why in the name of Ogg would you want anything to do with them? Get a nice DRZ250 and don't be waiting for the piston to come out through the crankcase...

Thanks Guys. Looks like I'm gonna have to look for some other way to ease that 2 stroke monkey on my back.. There might be a song in there actually.. Maybe one of those Chinese/Korean motox bikes, Skyteam st125. Any comments on one of those?

Great for learning mechanics on and waiting for parts.

Arn't they supposed to be rough copies of a honda. I read a thing on ebay from a chap who bought one and he reckoned it was a good little bike for the money. bit of a b*#*h to put together but a good 'un all the same.

hey - don't get me wrong, I love 2-strokes - but you could buy newer generation stuff that's much better, for same money. KDX200 for example. Maybe even a TS200X.

Me? I bought an 04 GasGas Pampera 250 for me, and DR200 for her, on eBay, and had them delivered.

All this of course, pending my putting the exhausts back on my RGV250K - which I've had since March 1991 .....LOL, those were the days.....:D :D:D

I've a Rd350lc at home in my brothers shed. He's gonna restore it. I gave it to him as I kept throwing it down the road, thought it was safer...

Some TZ (not tzr) pistons will go into some rgvs , might help it live on ... will give you an excuse to rip it down again anyway
