The RSPCA do a wee book that has all the basics of puppy care it's a handy one to have around.

Doesn't matter if it's male or female it's how you bring the dog up that will determine who well behaved etc the dog is.

Chis shiver anyway, doesn't mean they are cold but short haired ones do feel the cold so a few wee jumpers and tshirts might be needed esp. for next winter when out walkies. I know some people don't like to dress up their dogs but it doesn't have to be anything fancy and they do feel the cold some dogs refuse to go for walks when it's cold our so this helps.

A wee collar of course with an id tag and a wee puppy harness, harnesses are better for dogs stops them choking when they are first learning to walk on the lead. Mollys.ie have tons of small dog items few other sites as well.

The breeder I presume will have the pup chipped beforehand so you might need to change the registration details on it.

Vet bed is great and snuggly for smaller dogs, perhaps a snuggle safe heat pad (use only with the cover on it) they are great for keeping puppies warm at night.

A good quality puppy food but any chis I've known have always been fed on chicken etc they were spoilt and snappy so a puppy socialisation class is always handy to do if there is one in your area.

You can get wee puppy kongs but not if they would be too big for a chi. Check outsome of the irish dog websites for more bits and pieces hartonpaw is another one.

(Chis. is easier to spell than Chiauauauau...lol sorry)
