Cooker Help Please

    Hi all

My built in oven and ceramic hob just died. I switched on the wall switch and saw a little spark come from one of the rings on the hob. The trip switch for the cooker keeps flicking back down (off) when I try to push it up. The actual switch for the cooker (on the wall) seems to be jammed, so its actually stuck to the "on" position.

Its about 2 years old, no bother with it before, and no major water around it or anything.

I need this like a hole in the head, I was starting to cook meals for a party tonight. (Never mind me lunch...:()

Any help would be really appreciated, I could really do without paying an electrician right now, but I suspect its inevitable..

    Update:

An electrician from the corporation came round. Apparently its one of the rings which is making it blow the trip switch. He's disconnected that ring, so the rest of it is working. Any of you sparkys know if its worth getting it fixed, or should I get a new one?

Based on just a ring replacement, call appliance repair crews with oven make/model and which ring. You should be able to get a definitive price.
