Why the hell couldn't they have chosen lyrics that wouldn't make a guy sound gay?!!

It's obviously very catchy but only rugger huggers can comfortably sing along to it be they female or gay!

We're still stuck with "Stand up n' Fight" or those painful "Fields of Athenry"!!

    Jaysus, that was abysmal.

The only remotely amusing sporting song that gift grub did was the Roy Keane singing Joe Dean/Jolene song they did a couple of years back.

Dear lord that was sphincter-curlingly bad...and they used to be quite good...do like the gift-grub take off of POC though....

    Huh???

This is not a song to sign along. It's Gift Grub.

I thought it was brilliant. Very funny!!! Very well done!!!

I guess I've been hoping for a good alternative singalong Munster anthem for some time, and had the lyrics been a bit more "aggressive" or "sporting" on this then we could have had something.....

Taking it at face value...i.e a gift grub sketch (which of course it is), it is a bit of a laugh, so mission accomplished I guess.

Fair enough. We do need a new Munster anthem. Its always been a problem. When George Hook was asked "Why do Munster sing a Galway song?", he said its because its the only song out there with a decent tune where people can sign along. This is definately true. I love "Stand up and Fight" but it can't be sung during a match because it's opera.

When "The Fields" is sung well it is the only Irish song (that I know) that comes close to "La Marseilles" (not sure how you spell it, but in my opinion an ultimate rugby song).

For the moment we'll have to stick with what we've got.

That's got a good ring to it, but I'm sure Dougie wouldn't respond so positively to it!

You're on the right track tho!!

Lol, agreed, got a good laugh out of that.

"For as long as I can remember, I have been chasing silverware around the rugby pitch, but recently I realised, there are more important things in life...."
That line never ceases to crack me up!
