    Sadly Ken Doherty cannot make the poker tournament at the Liffey Arms, Newbridge, this Saturday but he has kindly donated a signed cue for the Saplings Charity which will be up for grabs on the night

    We have, however, secured a fine substitute with former Liverpool and Ireland legend Ronnie Whelan stepping in to fill the celebrity void. Ronnie will be donating a signed shirt to the already bulging tournament prize-pool/treasure chest and will also be trying his hand in the competition.

    Don't miss your chance to play with a footbaling hero whist supporting a good cause and playing some poker.

    One piece of bad news followed by plenty of good.

    Kenny Whelan is now commentating on the Ireland match this night and so is a non-starter. I'm not sure we must have a celeb but fear not we will have one - someone from horse racing now methinks.

    The good news...

    Paddy Power have generously donate the following:
    two corporate hospitality tickets to the All Ireland Leinster Final in Croke Park on 20 July 2008.
    Includes hospitality in the Paddy Power corporate box, hot buffet lunch, complimentary bar for the afternoon, souvenir programme and a free €100 bet on the game.

    we will put one of these up for auction on the night and add another to the poker prize-pool.
