Coming last in the final with Dervish last year, now Dustin is tied with the McCauls for worst ever result. Time for RTE to throw in the towel?

I know we didn't qualify but where did Dustin finish? Was he just outside the qualifying places or dead last? Anyone know? It used to be on the website in previous years but I can't find it this year.

Dustin's "song" was worse than a bad joke - it was total televisual diarrohea.

I think that we should pull out of Eurovision for a couple of years, and rethink our approach so that we can find actual talent that stands a chance of getting above "nul" points.

I don't know if it's a waste of money, I mean, it can't cost that much just to send an entry. It is a complete load of balls though. Ireland should keep sending stupid entries to rip the piss out of all the countries that take this thing so seriously. I think that's really what went against Dustin. Too many of last nights countries are the ones that treat this like a serious competition.

The thing I don't really get, is that Azerbaijan made it through as did Bosnia-Herzegovina, Estonia didn't, nor did Belgum, and a few of the other crap ones did make it too. I think there was definitely an element of the rest of Europe not understanding what the hell Dustin was, or what he was doing there and not that his was a crap act.

As for the texts being read out on radio stations from people who are mortified to be Irish today, get a life. Seriously, it's not like this actually matters. It is disappointing that the best act we've sent in the last 10 years bombed out, but hardly mortifying.

Well for one thing you being gone would certainly diminish our repretation as a nation of moaning, begrudging, childish morons.

Anyway OT Ireland should enter every year just to bolster our repretation as indolent begrudgers.

Best act my arse. He was muck.

Yes I agree we should pull out because the voting is unfair. Just like in the European Union. Now if only we could pull out of that...

the Italians pulled out a number of years back and haven't returned, as did Luxembourg. The contest is a kitsch-fest with no cultural value whatsoever. Its only a bit of fun, but if we've no chance of winning, and and consistenly come close to last, then I don't see the point in entering.
