Trouble Getting Accommodation in Biarritz...

Basically, my friends and I were mislead by a Biarritz campsite website into thinking there was accommodation there from the 7th-14th August, so we booked it, went through no problem and then booked flights, only to get an email back the next day saying that actually they were full...

Now we're having trouble finding somewhere to stay, we've sent emails to several campsites and been told they are all full. They're not exactly very helpful for referring us to other campsites or giving advice either.

So I'm just wondering if anyone would know of any campsites in the Biarritz region that I could try, any good websites where I could find info on campsites/hostels close to Biarritz, or if anyone could advise me on anywhere else which is lively and easily accessible from Biarritz airport which might have available accommodation that we could possibly go instead.

    Thanks,
    JC

Biarritz is so expensive its ridiclous, I was there last year and I had to leave. If you catch a train to San Sebastian you'd be better off

That was a thought of mine. Bars stay open all night there right?

I was in Biarritz 2 years ago and loved it, so wanted to go back. Campsite accommodation would be cheap enough if we could get it. Was planning on just drinking on the beach at night and living off supermarket food. So cost isn't realy an issue.

We're heading to amsterdam afterwards, so are getting an interrail ticket. So getting a train anywhere from Biarritz will cost nothing extra.

I did the interrail/camping thing a few years back too. Stayed in a small campsite somewhere in Biarritz, did like you said, drank on the beach and cooked food on a gas cooker, had a great time. We didn't book anything, just turned up, the campsites can be completely full however.
On our last night there we slept on the beach, there was loads of people doing the same.

Heading west into Basque country is great, loads of campsites, really cheap for everything, beautiful scenery.

    Man i'm jealous now.

OP, try this site http://www.camping.fr/Recherche/Vil_783-30/Biarritz.html, also don't get caught up in just biarritz. check campsites around bidart and saint jean de luz, etc... all very nice
