    Hi guys,
Just finished work on my Harley Benton GA5 amp and would be interested in your comments, suggestions, opinions and of course criticisms.
The link is to my u-tube vid where I've shown a demo of sound samples from clean through metal, with both the stock speaker and through a 1960A cab as well showing a triode/pentode comparison.

There's a list of the work I've done on the right-hand side.
Looking forward to hearing from ya,
    Paolo.

Not bad at all. Are you using any kind of pedal to get the metal sound, or is it all the amp's doing?

Not so mad on the metal tone, but all the rest are class, good work! Especially love the clean sounds at the start. How much did all the mods cost you in the end?

I'm on a similar mission with my champion 600, i'd seriously recommend a speaker upgrade though, I got a Weber ceramic installed and it sounds savage, improves tone by sooooo much, not too expensive €50 off ebay. I have a vid up too but i wont spoil the thread.
I just thought the "clean" sound was a bit tinny, perhaps that's the mic? It sounded similar to the tone i was getting before the speaker upgrade.

I'd like to see your vid if you can post it or PM as I was thinking about the speaker next. Did you try and get a 10" in there?
The "mic" was just a digital camra and I had to use heavy attenuation to avoid nasty ass camera clipping so that could account for some of the tinny sound, but I'd definitley like to see the results of your speaker upgrade especially if you've a before and after.
Did you look at a transformer upgrade also?

Jack: the mods I did were very cheap as it was mostly loose companants and swirches, about €12 all told. The guy in Maplin was delighted to get my business I'm sure!! The tubes cost more but I wouldn't clasify that as a mod.
