I'm not sure where to put this. Sorry if I got it wrong.

I know somebody who wants to broadcast a webcam stream (possibly more than one simultaneous connection) from a home PC on broadband conection (it's 3g mobile). Has anyone done this?

I'm assuming I'll use dyndns dynamic ip service to get a domain name, but I'm looking for server software to stream/multicast the picture, and provide authentication.

For streaming webcams (embedded into a website or hosted by the external program) there are a few different options:

    >> Does a comparison of some different options:
    UStream TV
    Operator 11
    Stickam
    YourCams

    Another I found is Mogulus

    Thanks for those Sabre.

It looks like they all rebroadcast your stream publicly though. I'm looking for an application that will act as a simple webserver on the local computer to broadcast the stream and allow me to password protect it, as there are legal/privacy issues in making the stream globally available. I would also be happy with a website like the ones you quoted, but offering a private protected channel for a fee. I didn't see thin functionality in any of the sites in that article.
