27yr old couple looking for a relaxing holiday but with some nightlife (not the clubbers guide but not an oap fest either :o)

We are looking at rhodes or malta for the last two weeks of september (will prolly go for 7- 10 nights)

anyone recommend either, and a resort in either, would be looking at 4-5* accom if possible

malta is a great place to go. because the island is so small getting around is easy. the buses are really cheap. if you stay in St Juliens you will be surronded by nightlife, its all go here. i would recomend Buggiba, Qwara or St Pauls Bay. these are actually seperated by streets. loads of resturants and bars. the nightlife here is good and its not to hectic. we stay in St Pauls Bay. the beech's are closer to here than St Juliens. a bus ticket to the beech is about 70 cent each. Paradise Bay, Golden Bay and Meliha are the main beeches. a trip to see Blue Lagoon is a must. they have loads of dance festivals on the island, ministry of sound are regulars. they are big into car racing and vintage car shows. if you can get to a soccer match try Valetta v Bira Kara. the atmosphere at these matches are great. the feasts (holy parades) are great sessions espcially St Helens. you can go to the other islands Comino and Gozo by ferry. Valetta is good for shopping the markets there have everything. splash and fun is a medium water park with dolphen shows etc. o yeah the cisk beer is great. if you here anyone say Libba- they just insulted you. if you go hope you have a good time.
