I was there, thought it was realy good, however i thought it would have been better if it was seated, or in vicar street or something, i thought it was a bit lost in a half full RDS.
Vocals were a bit hard to hear on a couple of songs.

Yeah I think he takes it easy on the vocals when he plays live. He probably knows alot of people are just there for the awesome guitarage!

did he do any dire straits songs?

He did Romeo & Juliet, Sultans of Swing, Brothers in Arms, So Far Away and Local Hero. Think there might have been one more.

Thought it was great actually. The sound was perfect and there was a real relaxed vibe throughout. Such an amazing guitarist. So clean and precise. Refreshing, is what it was.

Can't understand why some people pay €55 a ticket then proceed to talk over him soloing? Seriously, missing the point much or what?

Yeah I couldn't understand that either - there were these two total eejits near where I was. Great gig though - I wasn't expecting all the Dire Straits stuff at all, so it was a great surprise.

Yea, I thought it was an excellent GIG, 'What It Is' i think is his best non-dire straits song. Can anyone remember what the first song was? It was a really fast one.. Funny when he gave out to the fella recording him on his camera..

Anyone know the full set list?

Just so I know exactly what I missed.

Exactly! This has been happening a lot to me recently… I was at the Japanese new music festival a couple of weeks back and a whole group standing in front of me talked, laughed and exchanged mobile phones for the duration of the gig. I couldn’t understand why they where even there… would a pub not have suited them better if that’s what they wanted to do.

There was a couple near me and for the last fifteen minutes of the main set they just wouldn't shut the fuck up. Every time I moved back a little they followed suit too. She kept looking over at him, as if for approval or something, confirmation they were having a great time together. Don't get it.

Pretty sure they played all your favourites.

They didn't play any punk songs if that's any consolation.

I went to see him 2 years ago. he is a legend, when I saw him it was in the Point. I was at the very back so I couldn't see sh*t, but the sound was good iirc. He started that night with Why Aye Man is that's any help incase he started with it again. Also I think that time every second song was Dire Straits, only that time he didn't play Romeo and Juliet iirc. I would love to see him again

Just kidding. Honestly, beyond the Dire Straits numbers I don't really know what they played. I think Shangri La featured in the encore; can't be sure, as I don't know his solo stuff, but I thought I hear him say it in they lyrics.

And I think they integrated bits of The Princess Bride soundtrack into the set. Just before some songs it sounded like they were playing little bits of it but I can't be sure.

Was at that point gig The Bollox mentioned. Good few DS songs then. More than I expected. Didn't know much of the solo stuff back then, but was still good. Know more of it now, and wouldn't mind seeing some of it live. Maybe next year...
