2nd Annual Alternative Eurovision Song Contest Show

This Saturday from 5-7pm will be my 2nd Annual Alternative Eurovision Song Contest!
TV (and cr*p radio) will be saturated with cheese-tastic tunes so to redress the balance, I'll be trying to play a great track from as many of the entrant nations as I can find!
Last year, dEUS narrowly beat Soulwax to become Belgium's contestant and the rules were bent a little when I used an 'I'm from Barcelona' track as the Spanish entry!
So, this year, in an an effort to keep it all above board, I'm welcoming all suggestions!

Which Swedish band gets the nomination? Bjork vs. Sigur Ros for Iceland?
    Spain? Finland? Bosnia/Herzegovina????

Post here, text to 0833111052 on Saturday from 5- Every Vote Counts!

If I may make a few suggestions towards your excellent idea of a show....

    england- the young knives

ireland- roisin murphy or somebody good, please not the usual twaddle which is supposed to be original music in this country. Its mostly rubbish.

    greece, slovakia, romania, serbia...-DaVotchKa

    holland- blues brothers castro

    germany- beige gt

france- villeneuve (possibly look at me)

    spain- amaral (not gret tho)

    I'm all europed out.

    Whoop! Love this show!

    Spain - Manu Chao

    France - MC Solar

    Sweden - I'm From Barcelona

Norway - Röyksopp - Kings of Convenience - Ane Brun

    Denmark - The Kissaway Trail

    Belgium - Soulwax

UK - Guillemots (play 'rising tide')

    Ireland - Redneck Manifesto

    That's all for now!

Manu Chao for spain-great choice! as is devotchka- great songs and their handy wide-spanning 'influences'!

obviously i'll dedicate a significant part of the show to that latvian entry.

    they did look awfully smart.

    keep 'em coming!
