A long shot, I have a Zanussi ZT615 integrated dishwasher.

It won't start the cycle and the intensive light is constantly lit?

I have a hotpoint but mine regularly flashes a light or two, these are for fault codes for service technicians. However, the most common fault on mine ( which you may or may not want to check on your machine) is that the inlet filters get clogged with silt from the water supply. To access them pull the dishwasher out from under the worktop. Turn off the service valve, and undo the hose at both ends. There should be a filter at each end of the hose, remove them and clean with an old toothbrush before replacing them and redoing the hose. Hope this helps.

Thanks, tried that. I think it is a problem with the circuit board. As it is 11 years old probably better to get a new machine.
