I've been a long time ebayer but recently I've have to say it's flooded with fake clubs, you need to be so so sure on the seller.

    I agree.

I've bought most of my clubs on there. As long as you're careful and the sellers has a strong history you're grand. I bought my TM Irons and Burner 3W(which I have since traded in) off a Pro Shop in England on Ebay - hard to go wrong.

    Good idea.

I found these guys to be reliable:

Golfbidder.co.uk is a 100 times better place to purchase clubs online than Ebay IMO.

100 times? Why do you say that?

Golfbidder is good but once you're happy the seller is legit on Ebay I've found it to be cheaper and much better for bargains.

I would agree, golfbidder is generally expensive, it's probably safer but ebay offers a lot more options.

For anyone that picks up the "Today's Golfer" magazine, this months has 3 free Zero Friction tee's included. I used them on a round today and I was very impressed by them. I am ordering a pack of 50 now.

Could be part of the new announcement due from the R&A soon?

ie: they could be banned soon?

I wasn't aware of any announcement. Is it just this club that might be banned or a whole range of top brand clubs?

They have been on sale at 199 for a good while now I just assumed they were dropping the price again to get rid of stock.

    460cc too big now?

Or is it the R7 "draw" club that will be banned?

Good site. Do you have to pay import duty on the gear when it's shipped to an address in Ireland?

    Cheers,

I bought a few times from rock bottom a few years back, got lucky once on customs on a set of irons. Got unlucky on a pair of shoes, cost $30ish, shipping $20 and fedex charged me €40!!

I don't bother with states anymore, as shipping costs and customs charge if you get them generally make recent equipment cost more than you can get them here or in the uk.

You will definately get stung for customs / import charges when ordering from this company. I purchased a set of clubs along with balls and gloves for €170 approx. Two months later a bill from FedEx came to the house for €50.

That aside I still made considerable savings on what you pay here in Ireland so it was still worth it. Shipment arrived quickly with no hassles.

what happens if you dotn pay the fedex bill?

To be honest I think all those Draw offset clubs should be outlawed.
Most drivers on the market have closed faces as default,1-2 degrees.

Same here, you pay customs charge but its still way cheaper than buying in Eire. Although anything under €40 in value will not get taxed.

They send debt collectors after you. Seriously.

I'm not sure why they would be banned. They don't make the courses play any "shorter" or even easier. All they do is to compensate for a problem that many high handicap players have. Draw biased clubs aren't played that often I'd guess by low handicap or pros.
