Im heading to Vegas in August and doing a 3 week road trip through california. Will pick up car in Vegas and drop off in San Fran. I got a quote of €212 for a sebring convertible for the 3 weeks. This includes everything.....one way fee's, taxes, insurance. It does not include the tank of petrol you pay before you leave.

the company I went through were www.argusrentals.com
I rang after I got the quote emailed to me and the lady said that it must have been an online error. She punched in the same dates and drop off's as I did and the quote came to €898 for the same sebring convertible.

So I said what do I do with the email quote I was given and she said that if I went ahead and booked it online using the link from the email that I would have to get the car at the price I was quoted!

So I went ahead and did exactly that. I then rang up after to confirm my booking and the cost was €212 for the 3 weeks!! The company is Alamo that I'll be renting off.

Has anyone else had this happen to them? I can't believe my luck.

    Nice one :)

I'm reneting from Phoniex to San Fran this July for €430 for 11 days. My original quote was €800 until I came here and got a hint check out Thrifty who had 40% off PLUS they work through Dollar rentals who don't change one-way drop fees between NV/AZ and CA.

unbelievable how the rates can change so dramatically is'nt it though! It would make you think that there was something up with the offer. Well I thought that when I saw the quote originally. :)

    But I ain't complaining!
