looks good. any plans to sell them here Tony? I know they are for the uk only but I am sure a good wholesaler could get round that.

Thats the problem Uk wholesalers are notoriously difficult to deal with and with the very low margins I'm not sure if its viable. Any i've talked to so far have been unhelpful to say the least .I'm also working with manufacturing partners to see if a freesat compatible product can be made at a competitive price.

WOnder will it be long before freesat compatible boxes appear and all have their own epg due to reverse engineering? Doesn't look like BBC has it tied down.
Saw over on ds that foxsat isn't the best for SD and the grundig may actually be better even though its harder to use etc.

I don't foresee any mad dash to do this as the retail price and the associated profit margin is little motivation. I hope it happens though to make availability easier. A friend in the industry told me that a plug in is available for the dreambox to display the sky epg, anyone come across this?

Everything I've seen revolves around using the Ethernet port and Internet access to pull XML feeds from Radio Times and then roger these into the Dreambox EPG format or into a format that an alternative EPG plugin uses. I found them slow and awkward.. they can be resource heavy on the dreamboxes and also are not "live".. rather downloaded on a schedule.

There are some variations that use external programs running on a PC etc that do the dog work of downloading the schedules and then can be programmed to auto-record favourites etc.. for instance tvbrowser does this.

But either way.. (unless someone can enlighten me), I'm not aware of any dreambox extensions that actually read the EPG from the satellite feed itself and this includes decoding both Skys opentv format as well as the MHEG5 that Freesat are supposed to be using.

I'm hoping this will change with the freesat MHEG EPG.. as its supposed to be more open than opentv
