Issues with WII rgb cable (odd hue/colours)

    Hi all,

Just wondering what ye would make of this...bought a (very cheap) RGB cable for the wii on ebay. When I fire it up, sure enough the pic is clearer and sharper than composite, but the hue is screwed. Blues become pinks etc. Have an RGB for xbox etc which works fine, so reasonably happy its not the TV.
I suspect the (very cheap) cable is probably wired incorrectly, but wondering if anyone has any thoughts?

Are they permanently the wrong colours? Is one of the primary colours apparently completely missing? Probably incorrectly wired or just crap if it's one of those happening. They could be missing capacitors on each of the three colour lines (usually located in the SCART plug), which can make the colours look dodgy too.

If it flickers or changes colours when moving the cable or plugs it's prob just something loose. It should be easy enough to inspect the SCART plug, but I've seen many a godawful console SCART cable where the connector on the console side is just filled with glue so it's completely impossible to fix or even inspect properly.

From my experience, chances are any SCART cable not made by the manufacturer are junk in some way. If there's little/no shielding (not sure what the Wii connector is like) where there should be, you're gonna get noise which gets very noticeable on LCD/plasma/whatever TVs as they're a lot less forgiving of inperfect analogue video.

OK, thats pretty much the conclusions I'd come to as well... ta for the input :)
Having looked at the cable, there is nothing obviously loose or anything, so I'm going to put it down to crap cable, and go and pick up a decent one.
Anyone have any suggestions on where would be a good place to pick up a quality RGB cable?
