Busking - trying to think of new songs...

    Here’s the deal.
I went busking a couple of times about 10 years ago, but it sounded like crap, so I stopped. Now I want to start again, and I’m looking for some good songs to play. I’m a bit stuck, looking for ideas.

    I’m looking for songs that:
-don’t get played too often in the street
-don’t require an amazing voice (I’m ok, but I’m no Plant or Buckley)
-sound good when played alone (acoustic guitar)

Here’s what I’ve got so far, provided I can play/sing them decently:
-Fionn Regan, Be good or be gone (sweating a lot on the fingerwork at the moment)
-Boots of Spanish Leather (There HAS to be some Dylan…)
    -The Man in Me
-She’s better off without me (Bill Withers)

+ 4-5 others which I can already play.

Can you suggest anything? I’m also looking for more upbeat songs. I’m not going to play anywhere too crowded or noisy.

Maybe something by the Smiths, Ryan Adams, Elliott Smith? I don’t really know RA and ES. And I die a little inside when I listen to Oasis/Stone Roses etc., so that’s not an option.

    Cheers!
