Yes, eight hours crouched over a laptop....I'm finding these much, much easier with Photoshop, I must confess, than with Elements.

    Wider version is here.

    Also this one:

    Wider one is here.

I had major issues with the sky in this one. I have to figure out a quick and dirty way to handle textured skies. Not impressed that the weather changed as I was doing these and the sun went away, shutter speeds were down, ISO was up and all that. But I'm happy in handling the landings in both cases...that was always going to be the harder thing to do with these.

    Very cool, really like them.

Well done! Amazing job. You know, how to do it.
Unfortunately, it looks a little "crowded" for me. Every second one would be enough for me, I think. But it is just my opinion only!

    Cool shots Treasa!
In my opinion I'd drop 2/3layers from your shot on the right hand side, there's too much going on and it takes from the shot. In both shots the left and up until their mid jump is perfect but then it seems to get a bit jumbled.

What I would try if I was taking a shot like this is to take the shot like you are doing. Then look over it on the camera, if you think it's going to come out well, I'd stay in the same position and just take a landscape shot(pano) for the background in ps. This way you dont have to clone away much and have a perfect background for the shot... what ya think?

The first shot seems grand as the sky doesn't seem to be out at all that day whereas the second shot its quite noticeable.

:) Cool shots all in all !

TBH i didn't expect to have a set of photographs at all out of the evening because it was just getting a little dark for my liking.

However, I'm reasonably happy with both of them although the second one is far from perfect. Basically, the second one is a training shot - I know it looks a little cluttered - but I've other ideas for composites in store, so I need to put the time in on getting the layers right, even when they are slightly cluttered. I need to sort out the kitelines as well as this will be critical for other things I need to do.

    Thanks for the feedback.

As a matter of interest Treasa, do you do this yourself? As in kite surfing?

darn cool - way to go you!

Pity the sky wasn't somewhat more pleasing but summer's on the way so i suspect you'll have lots of opportunity.

Very creative and adventurous - well done.

    Nice work,
two minor critisms, in the top shot, his legs disappears as he hits the water,
and the kite being half gone, half in, if you were going to mask it remove it, I think it would of been better to get rid of it all, i'd rather it was in though

Two quick comments: yes the sky screwed me over. It was really nice just until I got there, apparently. Mellor, his legs disappear because they disappear into the water. As for the kite lines, point taken. The kite never appears in these shots anyway although goddarnit we're trying but the whole thing works a lot differently with wide angles. This I know because I was on the beach at 6am trying.

    thanks folks.

    Thats fiar enough, of course,
On the small scale it looks as if it is semi-transparent, buts its likely to be spray etc,

    anyway, good work
