Couple of questions re Freesat. Appreciate if anyone can help..

Do the boxes work with the Sky mesh dishes? Can you walk into an argos/currys/john lewis in UK and buy without postocde proof etc? Anyone word on when the Humax HD PVR is out? This last one is the Sky killer for me.

I currently pay over 80 eur per month on Sky multiroom and I am disillusioned with Sky Sports and premiership etc. The only real thing that keeps me on Sky at the moment is Sky+ features. I should have reduced from the sports/movies package a while ago but now with the Freesat HD boxes coming out i plan to upgrade to a good Plasma HD TV and get rid of Sky - hopefully a self funding exercise over 2 years.

Just did a bit of a trawl on digital spy and it seems that yes you can buy the box without installation and it works with the Sky mesh dish so all good so far.

I think the PVR is due out later this summer.

I already have FTA satellite dish which looks at Astra 2 - if I buy the Freesat box will it work with this dish ?

Yes, the good news is that it works with standard dishes and Sky mesh dishes. You need to point at Astra 28.2 - the same as Sky Digital UK.

Why? Slegs has already told you it works with your existing dish

If you are pointing at Astra 2 (which is at 28.2E) you wont have to move
