I've always had a soft spot for the Interceptor - just for the name alone!
Bond should have driven one of these....unfortunately only John Steed did in the horrible remake of The Avengers (if I'm not mistaken)

You would also want to take an account out with Texaco or Statoil with one of these, and no point going for the diesel version. :D

I had a good look at one of these at the classic car show in the NEC last year. From a distance I actually thought it was a minter original but as we approached it was obvious that it was a totally new motor. My father in law who was with me has a '73 MKIII so we showed a good bit of interest.

It looks like a really nice motor, the guy on the stand who designed the remake maintained they wanted the new car to match the performance of the new jag xkr !! (that's ambition)

as for the Father in laws MKIII, he reckon's it was the most pointless car he ever bought. So unreliable, thirsty and just not nice to drive, I think he has only put about 1000 miles on it in the 3 years he has it!

that car is a rebuilt motor as its using a pre 76 bodyshell and chassis. The last totally new interceptor from scratch was around 1993.
