read up about a days reading and got on so many pundits forums .
    my bet is this .
man u to just lift the cup at 8/11
13/10 to win in 90 mins slightly better . but id be lumping, and to lift the cup bet . covers extra time or penos etc.
chelsea wil not want to go a seson empty handed . but i just think man u to strong all over the park for them

I wouldn't bet against Chelsea in Moscow to be honest..usually in a Man U game i'd go for a punt Ronaldo first scorer, but he has a tendency to get lost in big games,so its a bit less likely

in what i'd regard as a 50:50 game you have to take the side with the best odds
    chelski are the value

as a manu supporter i wouldnt touch this game

They only won the league by two points and alot of that could be put down to Chelsea's poor start. I agree that Chelsea are the value

still think man u aint going to throw away the chance of this double ....
    sticking to my guns

United had a pretty disastrous start too in fairness. As a United fan I'm very wary of this. Think it's Chelsea's title but hoping I'm wrong. No bet for me. Might throw a fiver on Giggs to score purely as a heart over head bet.

wouldn't touch this one with a bargepole. the only bet i'd consider would be a 1-0 for either side or the under 2,5 goals option. can see it being very like the fa cup final last yesr where one mistake or moment of magic could win it. could go either way.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

Hargreaves is 12-1 to score in 90 mins.
Might throw a fiver on that.
Other than that its really a coin flip.
If there was a gun to my head id let em shoot me cause i couldnt call it :D
Redfan i really hope you are not lumping on.
You may ultimately be right but its too tight and its practically a coin flip.
Would you lump on a coin flip?

Agreed. Have Hargreaves backed to score. Also have Ronaldo because even though he tends to disappear in big games, if there's a penalty or a decent free kick chance it's gonna be him taking it. He doesn't need to be on flying form to bang them in.

As for result, might throw a small bet on 1-0 either side and 1-1 draw. Very close game.

Just pointing out that PP are refunding all losers if Ronaldo scores in the ninety minutes. Nice to see them bring this back instead of the usual first goalscorer or correct score refunds that they seem to have adapted as the norm over the years. Win/draw/win bets, ht/ft bets, the lot.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,698 ✭✭✭semibluff

    - 1.5 goals

    Man U to win 1-0

    my two bets

In other words they think there is no chance in hell he will turn up
    considering its a big game.
He will probably score a hattrick now :D

GONNA DO A SCORECAST FOR VALUE ODDS

ronaldo to score 1st goal and man u to win 2-1 30/1 with pp

rooney to score 1st goal man u to win 2-1 40/1 with pp

You'll get better odds than that. I' not gonna go searching for ya, but Betfred would give ya 40/1 and 45/1 respectively.

    Cracking odds on Ballack-

12/1 to be Man of the Match

    6/1 to score ANYTIME

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

Decided on a draw at half time @ 5-6 with PP.
Only have €15 on it as otherwise i wouldnt watch the match out of spite :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,975 ✭✭✭nkay1985

Anyone know the odds on Kalou to score anytime? Me being in work and not being able to access PP and all.

If it's tight he's sure to be brought on when there are a few tired legs and has been known to score the odd few.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,698 ✭✭✭IrishMike

    14-1 to score first
11-2 to score anytime with PP

Really really **** odds when you consider how few goals he scores

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,783 ✭✭✭Pj!

26.0 to score first (betfair) and
    11.5 anytime (betfair).

Don't know why people accept getting ripped off by bookies.

Wow, basically double the odds for both!

TBH the reason I haven't used Betfair is that it doesn't appear to be very user friendly. I haven't spent more than two or three minutes on it so maybe that's why but it doesn't seem to be like a normal betting site or something, in terms of how to navigate.

If a beginner looks at a race card, they won't have a clue either what it all means but as we know its quite simple once you know.
Same with betfair. It's not tricky at all. I'm sure there are tutorials or something on the site anyway. Get to it.

I'm going to go with a scorecast of 2-1 to Man United and anytime goalscorer with Hargreaves.

    E100 on Chelsea @ 2/1

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,126 ✭✭✭homah_7ft

I see value in Ashlely Cole being shown a card at 4.1. I've put my money where my mouth is :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 349 ✭✭modo85

gone for malouda first scorer 24\1 wot a price had to take it and joe cole 18\1 another cracking price has to be done

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,902 ✭✭✭✭Mellor

I decided to give in, dispite not being much value, but I think there is some fun to be had on the likely outcome
    So

    Man-Utd to win 2-1 @ 17 - 2
    Man Utd -1 @ 5-1
    and 2 or 3 goals @ evens

So Utd 2-1 is my baby really

They probably did ok with the draw at 90 mins.

But with ronaldo scoring, and all losing bets going back, they probably didnt do well

Well as a United fan I'm obviously delighted with the result! But it turned out to be a good one from a betting perspective too!

    I had:

Ronaldo to score anytime @ 7-4
Ronaldo to score first @ 5-1
Ronaldo to score for United @ 3-1
    1-1 Draw @ 9-2
Ronaldo to score first and United to win 1-1 @ 22-1

Plus €2.03 back on other bets.

As you probably know by now I'm a small stakes man, just do it for the fun but overall spent €3.20 and got over €10 back.

Nobody was having a go...just saying that it was a really difficult game to call. Anyway, I had United at 6/1 :p

We were not unbelievers, we just said that lumping big on a coin flip was madness.
You do realise that you are gloating about a right call despite extra time,
then penalties then 2 sudden death penalties ?

    Thats a ridiculous post.

I wouls say that powers would probably make up what they lost in word of mouth. Everyone in the pub was talking about it last night and Id say that was the same in most places. Also hear Paddy power on radio this morning. Good marketing ploy imo and a win win situation

i and most other punters know very well pp will be always the winner
im just stating my prediction man u to lift the cup was a wise decision.

my crystal ball says rangers tonight by the way and -1 13/10 hehehe

I'm not 100% certain about but it's just an educated guess. Surely the money they were taken in on this would have been going onto Ronaldo to score a goal on the exchanges. I highly doubt PP made a loss....

Im honestly going to ignore every prediction you make from now on after that statement.
You have a lick of paint to thank for not losing "big"
Enjoy the feeling of winning, i suspect it wont last.

Well done, rangers are currently 2-0 down after 80 mins.
Might wanna upgrade that ball for some tarot cards or maybe a rabbits foot!

That sums up this board. Little or no reasoning behind either bet. Normally I wouldnt criticise anyone who posts up their bets here, each to their own and all that, but when someone gloats about winning a "big" bet by 6 inches and it being a wise decision deserves a slating.
