Earthquake's aftermath

    I don't know if I've posted this photo before but it certainly has special meaning now:

    This was taken when I last went to Tangshan in China - the ruins of a library that the university just built before the earthquake struck in 1976. That earthquake killed 240,000 people.

    Hopefully soon we will see life springing from the ruins in Sichuan and other provinces and these people who have lost so much will have their pain eased somewhat.

    Our family had been in contact with our grandparents back in China and it seems that everyone across the country had felt the tremors (and even now there are massive aftershocks - 6.0 aftershock today).

    Though I am not religious at all, in these times I certainly wish with all my heart that more survivors can be found and that no one else will be injured.
