My friend has a playstation 3. He also has 3 mobile broadband.
He can't get it online because of some problem regarding the fact that it is mobile broadband. Can anyone help? We don't know how to get it online! Please help! We need solutions!

There could be a way of making a network bridge between a computer and the PS3. I know you can do something like this with the xbox360 and a laptop.

Also, you can buy usb dongles, that'll broadcast your computers net connection wirelessly. Basically turning your computer into a mini wi-fi hotspot.

Is there any solution which doesn't require the use of money?
My friend really isn't up to that and I wouldn't be up to it either.

lots of people are using mobile broadband for their ps3. ps3 has to be connected to computer with the network cable that came with it and have internet connection sharing enabled on the computer then.

i tried myself a while ago but couldn't get it to work (found out later it was commodo messing my laptop up)

apparently "three" is crap for it though. vodafone seems to work for a lot of people but setting it up can be tricky

When the 3 broadband first came out I did it,
I bought a router, connected it to my laptop and PS3 set the 3 broadband to share connection and it worked.

    Pity it was terrible.

Yes you can! After 10 days of trial and error I finaly cracked this problem on sunday. Since then I've had several lag free hours on COD4 and RFOM with smooth play and no dropped connections. Now I'm not a techie but I will explain the best I can. I use 3 mobile broadband. First open your Network Connections. You will see the 3 modem, ignore this for now. Further down you will see 2 ethernet connections, Local are connection, and 1394 connection. Right click one of these and Bridge the connection. Then open the properties of your 3 modem and under Advanced click on internet connection sharing. Install your ethernet cable from the back of your computer directly to the PS3. On your PS3 network settings search for the new connection. On testing it should work. Hey presto your online. I use win xp on my system and it usualy works fine. Sometimes you get a DNS error, keep retrying, if no luck, restart your pc, connect your 3 service and you should be good to go. Hope this helps, good luck
    ;)

I forgot I'm running this software on the above configeration on my xp laptop. That could be whats missing, looks like your getting there though, keep trying mate. :)

Try using the older version of FreeProxy instead, I had some problems with analogx last night and I replaced it with this.

    Download here
Go to ports, set client port to 8080, set local binding to your network adapter and click start. It _should_ work.

If you're still having problems try connecting a second pc in place of the ps3.

Oh and make sure you have a crossover network cable and not a standard one

Do you guys not find the ping too useless to online game? I have full HSDPA signal and I still get unreliable connections, according to that irishiptest website. apparently useless for voip (and gaming). I connect my PS3 directly to my PC and ICS the 3 Modem. Tried Proxy last night, but it was still useless. I think its more to do with three giving bursts of speed than any home networking issue, for most people.
I get NAT2 when I do the exact same thing with my dads Vodafone Huawei Modem, and obviously NAT3 (poor connection) with three....
    anyone agree?
(I'm other side of Blessington lakes to Blessington)

It seems to vary depending on the game, GTA is fine even with high ping but mgs4 was pretty much unplayable for me last night.
