Self-exclusion on iPoker? Possible?

So, after a Friday Night Work Drinks thingy, I stumbled home, fired up the lappy and proceeded to "do my b****x". Reading back the HH's this morning, I see some AWFUL places where I tried some batsh1t insane stuff that I would think about but never do as its the epitome of burning money.

Now I know on some of the sites you can self-exclude for 24hrs if you want and I for one would be more than happy to avail of this for Friday nights as I would save a nice bit of $$$$$ in the long run if I could do this.

Sort of with you on this one this time last year id be stumbling home at 3am on a saturday night in the door turn on the laptop and $5-10 would be to low stakes for me it had to be $10-20 or $25-50 at least.

Really you should have the disipline not to do it ive kind of developed it but it took me long enough.

I find it hard to imagine anyone who'd do this could be a winning player. Discipline discipline discipline.

Not neccesarily why cant you be a winning player and have good bankroll management but just be wary of doing something stupid after drink. This option would cut out that risk

Easy soltuion. Drink more so you cant find your way home.

I honestly dont how people can do this. After a nights solid drink I can barely get up the stairs let alone figure out how to work a computer.

Phones are another thing that should have a mandatory breathalyser

Different types of drunk I suppose! After coming home from a disco I'd usually be full of beans and would definitely be up for a game of poker, but of all the stupid things I do, playing poker drunk isn't one of them.

A friend of mine was back at my house 1 night, langers drunk, and played some $1/$2 PLO (off his $300 dollar bankroll!), blew it after about 15 minutes, but was wise enough not to rebuy. Told me that a previous night he came home drunk and built up a $1300 stack, and at one stage was actually passed out asleep on the keyboard.

when i first started playing online a few
years back. I blew my 200$ish bankroll playing
drunk after coming home from town a few times.
So before i went out i used to get someone to hide the mouse!
Funny days. I dont do it no more. Hide the laptop imo!!

When I was in college many years ago at this stage I had no BR management whatsoever and short stacked a 100nl with $20, I built it up to $350 and was a hell of a lot of money to me at the time playing poker.

So I wanted to withdraw it and just spend it on beer but for some reason PPP said the money would have to rest in my account for a few days before they would let me take it out. So I asked him could he suspend my account until then and he did.

This was back on Tribeca so don't know what the story would be now on Ipoker but is worth a try I guess.

could you imagine if beer didn't exist.

Came home one night and blew $1.5k playing poker, not content with that I decided that the only way to get it back was to have 1000 euro bet treble with the bookie on same site. Had to sweat for two days waiting on Liverpool, Blackburn and Chelsea, luckily they all won.

Seriously though I think its a great idea to have self exclusion periods for those of us who do have a weakness when we are sh1tfaced.

SIGH...... I suppose i'll nurd it up so.

    This prog - http://www.simtel.net/product.php[id]119473[cid]46[SiteID]simtel.net
looks like it can be set to prevent certain programs being launched at particular times during the day.
In fairness though - if you come back from the boozer tanked up and in the mood for some spewtastic cards, you could do worse than play on ipoker......

Email support of your skin, and explain the situation and they should oblige by locking your account temporarily.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,039 ✭✭✭Theresalwaysone

just enter your password wrong a few times before you got out. That'll auto-lock your account.

Your not gonna be bothered ringing them to reopen it when your ****faced.

    problem solved.

Learning how to play while drunk is really the only solution.
Start out at micro stakes after 4 or 5 pints. After a few days of this, move up levels, say 7 pints and a couple of shorts. After a few weeks you'll be able to play just as well/poorly when completely sh1tfaced, up to the point of blackout. An eye patch can be a useful accessory to have at hand(seeing 2 screens when you only have 1 is a difficulty).

Drunken texts, when used correctly, are +EV. Ie the text you send when only tipsy but have the drink as an excuse to fall back on if it doesn't work is pretty much win win.
