Um viruses don't cause cancer. Cancer happens when a cell doesn't die when its meant to, then starts metastasizing itself all over the place, killing off the other cells.

Viruses can have turn oncogenes to proto oncogenes, such as ras,obl etc.

Hepatitis B is a large cause of Liver cancer.Although it can take up to 50 years for it to cause it.

Biology not a strong point? Many viruses can cause malignancies. That's not to say infection with such a virus will always lead to cancer, but the genetic changes caused by the virus will certainly increase the likelihood of cancer developing.

Hep B can only contribute to the conditions (ie increase the incidence) that cause cancer, not directly create the cancer itself, and even then only in chronic cases. Ironically it is preventable by vaccination.

The title of the thread is "Cancer Virus in Vaccines". There is no virus that causes cancer, as in directly spreads cancer. The closest you could get to that is the Tasmanian Devils at the moment, where cancer has metastasized to the point where its actually spread by bites.

Human pamplona virus and cervical cancer are very well linked...it's a bit shortsighted to say that viruses don't cause cancer....but they certainly wouldn't be it's biggest cause my any means. Something like a retorvirus uses the hosts own DNA to replicate itself and start the next generation of itself...should it happen to cause damage at a genetic level during this process, the damge can go on to manifest as a carcinoma.
The thread title is misleading and is nothing but attention grabbing. De-activated viruses are used in many treatments and innoculations. I doubt the FDA would green light the release of a cancer causing virus into the wild if they thought it was going to actually cause cancer...even the conspiracy teorist in me would find it hard to swallow that one...

The whole article/video is misleading and fearmongering tbh.

Yeah, there is no cancer virus - what a load of arse.

I know, certain viruses can lead to cancer, but that doesn't mean they are "cancer viruses". That's like something a child would say.
