Excellent first post. looks like it was crashed outside of the country too??

I came across my old 97 Safrane on carzone the other week and it seems to have picked up a full service history since sold it. I serviced it myself and there was no history with it from before me. Not as serious and could pssibly be a mistake by the dealer but theres tons of "ommissions" with cars that are for sale (obviously no the god points being left out, OP being case in point).

OP you (seeing as you spotted it:D ) should give him a ring and see what he says.

I used to own that car and crashed it. When I traded it in, the dealer asked had it been crashed and I told him, he didn't ask for any more details.

The car itself was professionally repaired by a Smart specialist in the UK at a cost of over €10,000, and fully checked over by an engineer there and signed off. I'm sure I still have the receipt here somewhere for the repairs.

Coming down a narrow mountain road, car coming up so I move onto the grass verge which turned very steep very quick. As i was turning off it, the car flipped

Not many people can say they've put a car on it's roof & come out alright so it's a bit of a story to tell anyway!

The car looks like it held up very well. Out of interest, why did you change the colour - I thought the original looked far better.

I came out pretty much OK, which some people can't say.

Car held up very well, really shows how strong the Tridion safety cell is. Smart only had Silver Tridions left, and I don't think the yellow goes well with the silver, so I went for orange.

jesus benny you were lucky to get out of that one alright!

was it just pure luck that the original poster did a bit of googling and found the pics of the car on its roof, then on his first post here he finds the person that crashed it!?!

The first two pics look like some of the worst bits of photoshopping I've seen in ages. The contrast on the plates compared to the car is way off.

I walked away from it which is the main thing. Had to have surgery, but all is OK.

I can confirm 100% there not photoshops, probably camera flash or sunlight on the reg plates. I've more pictures of the car somewhere.

Fair enough - the plates tho do really look super imposed. I guess they are made to be reflective for speed cameras and stuff.

Great as a car. Good performance, great handling, good fuel consumption. I'm looking at getting another one after July.

I've heard them all at this stage :p The most common one seems to be "you weren't so Smart that day"

But yea, I still think if I had have been in say an MX5 I might not have been so lucky.

They were stamped metal plates, unless one of the newer owners put stuff on them.

Are they expensive to service? can they be serviced by a non merc garage? its just looking at the small hatch at the back there doesnt seem to be too much room around the engine for working space
