Jericho, cannot believe this got cancelled.
Breaking Bad, not enough people this side of the pond have heard of it.
Dexter, best TV show in years yet it barely gets a slot on UTV.

Friday Night Lights does not get the credit it deserves at all...

Dexter. Although it gets great praise here and stuff, most people i know haven't a clue about it...

Jericho - cancelled yes, why... nobody knows.

The US Office - Because the British one was so good there seems to be an attitude problem with the US version which imo is a much better show.

Southpark - Yes, people seem to think it is just kids cursing and rude storylines for the sake of it but its much much more, far better than the simpsons or even family guy. From season 5+ is just brilliant.

Edit: +1 for Dexter (sorry to mention 4 shows now ;) )

Good call, most people i've told about it have said "oh no, terrible, nothing can beat the original" but they've never watched it...

Underrated shows are often shows that have low ratings and are cancelled before their prime. I think Journeyman is a case in point.

    Jericho
    Dexter
Metalocalypse (because it's an adult swim show is gets stuck in 2-3am time slots, but a really excellent cartoon)

The Office (US). Yes it is better than the UK version because of the bigger and better supporting cast.
    Battlestar Galactica.
The Wire. I don't care how much praise it gets it will always be underrated :D

Dead Like Me - Yes, been canceled a while, but is still fantastic

Damn, re-read the rules and Dead Like Me doesn't count. But it's still a good show

    Dexter

    The Wire
    Chappelle Show
    Curb Your Enthusiasm

Obviously not underated by people in the know, just by the general public.

@ FearDark, I love south park, cartman is the funniest character in the history of TV but NOTHING is better than The Simpsons.

I hardly think 'Dexter' is under-rated - it's won awards, is the most popular program on its US channel pretty much and has its own forum here!

And 'The Office (US)' is one of the most popular comedies in America..

Ones I never hear people talk about but should:

    'Psych'
    'Medium'
'Reaper' (since the second half of this season)

Has Reaper evolved beyond the "Demon of the Week" format? I never got past episode 4 or 5-ish

Yep - I was almost tiring of that too. The monster of the week now gets despatched either quickly or has a more integral part to play in a larger story arc.

Legion of Super Heroes turned itself into a fantastic little series that wasn't afraid to take risks like killing off characters and having a major character become a villain.

    Canceled now unfortunately.

Venture Brothers. Luckily this is coming back for a 3rd and 4th series. But more people need to watch it.

    Journeyman
    Jericho
The Wire (still pretty much unknown among terrestrial TV viewers).

Might have to give Reaper another bash, got bored of that format early on and stopped watching. I did like it initially though.
