Lol, you think we even have a 5 Star Pizza hahaha. We have 1 McDonalds, bout 25km from 'Blayney and a 'soon to open' KFC which has been opening soon for a quite a while now. Tommy Wongs Chinese FTW!

In all seriousness it does sound good though. You not going to get many dealer dealt tournaments for €50. Wonder if Tommy Wong is doing the catering.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,049 ✭✭✭Ramiriquez

I'll definitely be there, for experience if nothing else. First live tourney and all that. Probably go bust 1st level or summat. Oh well, close to home

We were hoping one Neil Badbeat Channing would make a guest appearance and play in a heads up match v Marty after the poker but he's off to Vegas earlier than expected and won't be able to make it. we are scrambling around for another 'poker celeb', sadly so far we only have Ciran Corbett lined up. Will let you know if we find anyone a little more 'glamorous'.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11 bottleofharp1

Unlucky that Neil Channing cant come but Ciaran Corbett would definitely draw a crowd! I saw him at a tourney in the Red Cow and it was just scary how good he was!!

    why not try Roy Brindley

he is a celeb isnt he?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 241 ✭✭Paul Spillane

He is a celeb but sponsored by a competitor which kinda rules him out im afraid.

Ciaran Corbett is the star man alongside Marty for this event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,317 ✭✭✭The Clamper

ciarann is not a bad player, and great craic, which is much more important

    see you there

    sounds like a great night

might give this a shot later sounds like a bit of craic

Finished a respectable, yet disappointing 5th, A4 v 57 blind on blind, he spiked a 7 on the river. Woulda had chip lead but blinds were at 15k and 30k at that stage so just a crap shoot.
    Enjoyed this though

Who got the bounty? If anyone.:D

Bounty finished up at $600, think Marty finished in the 30's or 40's. Don't know who knocked him out though.

WE WILL POST THE FULL RESULTS LATER ON, STEVE HAS THEM WITH HIM AND IS PROBABLY STILL RECOVERING FROM A VERY BUSY NIGHT IN Castleblayney

IT WAS INDEED A GREAT BIT OF CRAIC, LOVELY PEOPLE JUST HAVIN FUN

    3 AM FINISH

NEARLY 5K IN BOUNTIES WERE HANDED OUT ON A MYRIAD OF PLAYERS

NOT A BAD NIGHT FOR SUCH A SMALL ENTRY FEE

THEY RAISED A TIDY SUM FROM THE POKER AND RAFFLE AND GENEROSITY OF SOME SPONSORS, ALL FOR THE HEART FOUNDATIONS OF IRELAND AND ENGLAND

    NICE

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,771 ✭✭✭carfax

Yeah, really enjoyed running this tournament and we were instructed to make it as playable as possible early on to give the newbies as much play as possible but we also had to be finished by 1:30am so by the time 2:30am rolled by we needed to speed up the blinds.

A very nice old man knocked Marty out for the $600 bounty but the total amount of money given away by Boyles was pretty sick.....In two €10 sit & go's the bounty on Marty was $250 as well as all the bounties on Boyles staff, high hand, ladies last longest, first player out and a load of other $100 giveaways....

Full official results will be posted by Tuesday morning if anyone wants to see them.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 241 ✭✭Paul Spillane

Thanks to everyone who came along and contributed to a truely wonderful evening.

Stephen and Derek worked outstanding hard along with their terrific team of dealers to make sure everyone felt relaxed which relected in peoples generousity towards the charity.
We will be allocating all the additional bouinties and bonuses on Tuesday, once the Boylepoker teams hangovers have subsided.
