Apologies if this is not in the correct forum.

I have gotten a few texts over the past week off a number which i do not have in my contacts. I have replied asking who they are but have not got an answer. Gettin a little peed off!

Is there a little trick that I can find out who is ringing me? (I'm pretty sure there is one where I can dial an extra few didits to get into their voicemail- forget it though). Any suggestions appreciated!

I had a similar thing happen to me. Turned out the person had the 08* prefix wrong. Took a while for them to finally realise their mistake. If they don't stop bugging you though, ring up the customer service of whatever network you're on and ask them for advice.

You could block your number and then phone their voicemail ... just add 5 after the prefix and before the number. E.g., if their mobile number is 085-1234567, dial 085-51234567 and it would go straight to their voicemail and that might give you a name if it is set up. I can't remember for sure, but I think its' something like #31# to block your number before dialing?? So dial #31#08551234567 for above example!!

yes #31# will block your number but if you have the 5 in there they wont even know your ringing their voicemail so the #31# is unnecessary, but handy to know.

Or else you could tell them to stop texting or else you will go to the guards....that should work:-)

This will only help if they have set up their voicemail message ie. " hi john doe here im not here at the moment please leave a message..." plus you'll prob only get their first name.

If you want to be a bit sneakier you could press the # button to interupt the message and enter 0000 as the passsword as long as they have nt changed their password you'll hear their voicemail messages which might be a better indication of whos been ringing you. Also there is no need for the #31# thing as they cannot check who dials into the voicemail from another number. Unless they went to the Guards and reported you - which would be ironic to say the least!
