You'll have to pay import duty/VAT on the car (irrespective of it's age) when you bring it in. That's levied on the cost of the car plus shipping costs iirc. Once it's imported, and if it's past it's 30th birth/registration day, it won't matter that you have a kit body on it. It'll still only be liable for classic tax.

I used Hill shipping in the past, they used to be known as Rybec, had no problems with them.

Hi Im looking at a lambo replicia in the uk for 32000 pounds . my question is , Ive tried to work out the tax costs and what i have come up with is this and im wondering am i right.
CAR; 32000 pounds, into euro = 40,365 euro ,10% import tax = 44,401euro, 23% vat =54,613 euro , 36% =66163 approx, this is the final price of the car, it has a 3.5 rover engine .

    Am I close ???

Yes, and No - it's down to the individual Revenue/Customs ossifer on the day and after you've gone to all the trouble to source and transport the car, if he 'deems it to be worth more' then he can whack what he likes onto it and you're left with two choices - 1) pay the man what he wants 2) pay the man what he wants ( 3rd choice, return to UK and say to seller, "Customs duty too high , can I have my money back ?" :P:P ) Thems the HARD facts :(

Go back to Grimreaper666 to see his first
