    Hi,

I'm looking to get my 523 serviced pretty soon. It's 1996 with 90k on the clock. Anyone have any recommendations on where to go?

I got a price from Kearys here in Cork which is way too expensive, 800 Euro!
Anywhere in Cork County would be fine.

    Thanks in advance.

There are a few places that have a decent knowledge of BMWs:

    Murphy Motor Works MMW
    Monaghan Road
    Cork
    021 - 4322122
    (near ShowGrounds/Pairc Ui Chaoimh)

The olde service manager & one of the top young mechanics from Kevin O'Learys are involved in this.

    Crossbarry Motors (Terry Madden)
    Crossbarry (near Innishannon)
    Co. Cork
    021 - 4776093

Terry himself is keen on BMWs & there is also a young fella in there that is clued in on all the diagnostics, and is also a BMW fanatic.

    Ardfallen Motors
    Ballycurreen, Grange
    (near Cork Airport)
    +353 21 4322999

These two brothers used to have a BMW dealership in the 1980's. They know their stuff as they see a lot of BMWs through their doorrs as a result of their history. They are kept busy doing recovery services for everyone though: AA, RAC, Hibernian, etc. This I think is one downfall for the servicing side of the business.

There is also a guy that has recently left a main dealers & set up his own place in Midleton, near enough to the Ford garage on the Cork side. No details for him though. Anyone else?

Just to note that any decent, competent mechanic should be able to serivce a BMW without any issue.

Thanks for that detailed post, very helpful. I'll give a few of them a call tomorrow. I've taken her to Murphy Motor Works in the past but I wasn't too impressed with them.

What kind of price should I be expected to pay generally?
