    I've an equium laptop and recently had bother with it.

    The touch and launch settings no longer work despite re-installing the drivers along with the media button.

    Also, when on the net now when i try to open a new tab it fails on me, half loads up then i have to go through the task manager to close the whole window down.

    Anyone any ideas on whats wrong wit any of the problems?

    Thanks!

    Your questions a bit vague but it could be a couple of things crashing Internet Explorer, I would recommend firstly reinstalling IE7 from here
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_internet_explorer/3282/
    If the problem still persists after reinstalling IE7 then it is a plugin that IE7 is using thats causing the error (ie like flashplayer, quicktime, skype, etc) so if you also try
    Start->Accessories->System Tools->Internet Explorer (No addons)
    Just to elimate these plugins and see if it works ok without them loaded.
    The issue with the media buttons, thats a bit tricky to diagnose especially as you say you already reinstalled the drivers and software. Were they direct from the Toshiba website you got them?

    Or use Firefox... Seriously. IE7 has crashed more times on me than Firefox.

    Anyway, I had similar problems with my old Laptop...also a Toshiba...which were caused by windows generally mucking itself up as it ages. It didn't help that I'd tried to scavange disk space by telling Windows to compress old files on the disk.

    Anyway, I saved what I wanted to keep off the drive on an external HDD, then formatted and reinstalled Windows from a recovery disk. That did the job. Reinstalled my programs and it veritably zipped along happy as larry until I sold it.

    Actually Firefox 3.5b has crashed on me more times than I care to mention. And 2 was a memory hog. But this isnt about that issue.

    Sounds though as if you have several problems that might be system wide. Couple questions would be how old is the machine and how long since it was last reformatted (have you had to re-install windows since you got it)

    Quite possible over time junk files and artefacts have bogged down your machine. but thats only a guess.

    i had to restore the laptop to a previous date last year due to a virus and the media buttons havent worked since then. i've downloaded the drivers from the toshiba site and recently found that the laptop actually has them already on it as a back up.

    another things that had started happenin recently is that when i turn it on, i get a black screen up and have to either press F1 or F2....all the settings seem ok though.

    maybe i should just dump the thing;)
