Can anyone recommend a good place to go to have a laminated floor (around 9mm) supplied and fitted.Somewhere in Dublin that's reliable and will do a good job.Thanks.

Anyone any info on the above?

Please dont take this the wrong way, but laminate flooring tends to look plastic and ugly.

Solid wood floors can give alot of trouble expanding and contracting. I often costs alot of money for a quality soild wood floor that will last without giving trouble. I found this out the hard way!!

Why not use semi solid and have the best of both worlds??? It costs a bit less, you can "float" it and it does not give the traditional problems that solid wood does. Instead of being a plastic/composite imitation wood like a laminate it is real hardwood (10-15mm) on top of plywood.

There is an interior design show on in the RDS until Sunday.

All wood floor types are there. I got a great deal at it before for wide plank semi solid oak with a matt oil finish.

Do you mean a bit more or is semi solid cheaper than laminate? Thanks

In fairness some of the "new" laminates are very very real looking, my brother sells flooring and I honestly could not tell the difference, the new laminates are not your flimsey laminates though, they are 8mm thick boards. But dont rule out laminates until you see all the options.
