I haven't seen any other threads on this yet. Fedora 9 was released this week.

    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/05/12/fedora_9/

Has anyone had a chance to test it yet? I've recently upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 so don't fancy a change at the moment, but the one thing I might take a look at is the persistant live USB creator

That looks good! Carrying around your own operating system on a tiny usb drive.

In all honesty, when are you going to use this?

These are various reasons I've carried a USB key around with a bootable linux install in the past:

Internet cafés (do you trust their computers?)

Work (testing some hardware, recovering passwords, having your usual software and settings everywhere you go if you work on different systems frequently)

Easily disposable evidence (nothing left on the computer hard disk, easily away-throwable or swallowable USB key)

I carry linux around on a 2.5" drive. I want to do what I want with out work seeing what I do.

I also computer hop alot and bringing my own OS everywhere with me is just so unbelievably handy.

Really keen to try out KDE 4. Always been a Gnome user, so keen for a change.
I'll try an upgrade from FC8 to 9 some time in the next 2 weeks.
