Can the holder of a provisional licence on classes C/C1 get a digital tachograph card?
Are tachographs needed when learning to drive lorries?

    Thanks

Vehicles do not need a tachograph if being used for driving lessons (among other things ie rubbish collection trucks etc)

Are you allowed to drive loaded lorries whilst learning? Hence the need for a chart?

The tacho does relate to the weight of the truck (apart from the initial weight requiring one).

AFAIK a truck or bus which does not travel more than a certain distance from it's base (30 miles/30 kms?) does not require a tacho.

There are no restrictions on the weight of a truck driven by a person on a learner permit apart from the normal maximum weights.
