    hello,

i did a quick search and found nothing recent on this so here goes..

can anyone recommend a decent full set of clubs or a place to buy online?

don't wanna spend too much, like maybe around €150. i suppose i could always add to this as i go i.e a new driver, putter etc so maybe the irons would be the main thing to get sorted. ebay i suppose?

    help much appreciated.

Have you considered a set of 2nd hand clubs. They will be better value than cheap new ones.....all they will need is new grips possibly.

I bought a set of the Dunlop MX2 in Heatons a few weeks ago. They are ok but not great. TO start off they will do you but if I were to do it again I would try getting a decent second hand set. THere is a set of Hippo clubs on Adverts for 150 at the moment so get them and you will be sorted mate.

I think the Hippo would be better to be honest mate.

    Hi Superweld,

I take it that you are just starting out playing? If so I would recommend oversized clubs (i.e. easier to hit).

The hippo set on adverts are decent if you could get them for less than asking. Alternatively you could buy new clubs online for around the same price(ebay or nevadabobs). Just had a quick look and saw these:
    RAM irons 5-SW 129GBP:
    http://www.nevadabobs.co.uk/Golf-Clubs/Irons/4scid/3956prodid.asp
    HIPPO irons 3-SW 129GBP:
    http://www.nevadabobs.co.uk/Golf-Clubs/Irons/4scid/2228prodid.asp
    REGAL irons 3-SW 49GBP:
    http://www.nevadabobs.co.uk/Golf-Clubs/Irons/4scid/3377prodid.asp

As everyone well tell you on here. Try out a set of clubs before you buy. Go to a golf shop and try some of the clubs youre interested in. Ask whether you need to get longer shafts due to height etc. Above all, dont rush into buying a set just because you need them. better off buying a good set you like than wasting money on a set you hate.

    Stooge

p.s. I have a set of lynx parallax on adverts. Bag and putter included.

    thanks stooge!

i used to play a lot when i was younger but drifted out of it and am now keen to start into it again. when i was young i had all different sorts of crap clubs i bought/was handed down individually, including a five iron with a wooden shaft and no grip!

so yeah you're right, it's better i not rush into it as i felt like doing this morning!
i'll take a look at all the links etc tonight them hopefully visit a shop at the weekend and see what feels good

    cheers

I got a perfect set of Titleist 690CB's for €140 inc delivery on ebay.

Just goto a shop with good rep and you will be fine.

Also got the Taylor Made R7 TP with the fujikora speeder stiff for 130 inc delivery so some great deals to be had.
