Hi all. I'm finished college for the year and FINALLY have some time to shoot again. I've been maybe (?) offered a commission to do some promo shots for a band. Female singer, kinda rock stuff. Anyone any ideas for location? Dublin area...

    Thanks :)

Maybe Temple Bar ... even with the music wall of fame in the background?? :D

stevens green square is a good spot, theres also the quays and the IFSC, i like that new futuristic bridge at jurys on the quays., maybe even the bridge at queen street, i havent geen up to that one yet but its on my list., :)

Anywhere with people is going to be hard to control, it can quickly turn into mayhem as soon as they see a camera. This might distract your band, maybe not.

How about somewhere more controllable? For some reason I immediately thought of an abattoir. I'm hungover, maybe that's why.

Abbatoir? Interesting! I wonder how I'd get access... anyone?

Bit of a bizarre hangover-related-thought though Hugh. *Backs away from computer nervously*

    ;)

I'm thinking the same about crowds, but Queen street bridge could work? Maybe if I do it early enough. Although musicians and early starts don't generally go together. I suppose there's always the standing-in-front-of-graffiti-in-some-squalid-laneway option...

Abbatoir? Wouldn't go down well if they had Veggie fans now would it.

Anywhere down by James' Gate might be good. S'bit industrial/dark/gritty/gotham-esque. Less people about too. There's a gypsy camp down that way. They're actually nice enough people. Might let you use their site as a backdrop. Its not all caravans and sh it. Its small colourful cottage stylee buildings that could work well. Possibly.

As a rock band they will pobably want something gritty, what about some of the council estates like the one at the top of Stephens green or around dolphins barn.
