Thought this might be of interest :)
Albert Einstein described belief in God as "childish superstition" and said Jews were not the chosen people, in a letter to be sold in London this week, an auctioneer said Tuesday.

The father of relativity, whose previously known views on religion have been more ambivalent and fuelled much discussion, made the comments in response to a philosopher in 1954.

Hopefully this'll stop the creationist goons using this line of argument.... I don't see why it would, though!!!

Yes, fact and evidence are well known for their effectiveness with creationists!

Here's Andrew Brown in Guardian's "Comment is free" arguing that:

"The physicist did not believe in God - but nor did he really believe in atheism. Therein lay his strength"

Now I can't understand a word that Brown writes, but for those interested in figuring out how he gets from "nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses" to "not believing in atheism" via Jung and Freud ... link
