handicap adjustment. help please

i scored 42 points yesterday playing off 13.7. standard scratch was 34. could anyone please advise me on my exact handicap as i am playing again this evening. i know it changes from 0.3 to 0.2 somewhere around 12. not sure where though. thanks in advance.

by my calculations you lose 2.1 off your handicap giving you a new handicap of 11.6 - playing off 12.

Appendix E of the CONGU System booklet show you a table for calculating.

Your club might have a spare copy lying around.

I think you'll be down to 11.6, so play off 12.

Category 3 players get cut 0.3 for every shot under sss
Category 2 players get cut 0.2 for every shot under sss
Category 1 players get cut 0.1 for every shot under sss

thanks for that. rang my own club today but handicap people were not in office and the poor girl on the phone hadn't a clue. she was sorry she asked if she could help me after hearing my query. so you reckon i should bo ok with 12 or should i go 11 just in case???

6-12 (Category 2)
13-19 (Category 3)
20-28 (Category 4)

Basically you get cut 0.3 per shot til you go below 12.5. After that it is 0.2 for each shot.

Once you go below 5.5 it's 0.1 per shot.
