Go here: http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk/ [Link found by putting 'train london cardiff' into google]

I just put the match day into that, and there were several trains and seemed to be seats on each?

    Book train? Whats the problem?

You get the Heathrow express train into Paddington Station and get the train directly to Cardiff from Paddington. Its about £15 from Heathrow to Paddington. The train to Cardiff you should book in advance because the price goes up the closer to the date. You can always get the bus from Victoria Station which goes directly to Cardiff. It usually takes about 3 hours.

There's a few of us in the same boat and investigating hiring a minibus. We'll be leaving london around 11am returning around 9pm the same day. Would you be interested in joining us? If we got 8 people it works out around 50 - 60 GBP return, depending on the number.

There's no bus back the same night if that is your intention.

I booked a train up from Paddington the other day for £24 one way leaving around 12.30pm. It was on the Virgin rail website.
I'm arriving into Heathrow around 11 ish, how about you op?

Get the ferry over to wales? Plus you get to bring a car so you don't need any other transport to rely on. (As I'm sure many Munster fans will be doing after the fiasco of the trains trying to get to their semi final match)

I'd agree with this if there's a group of you. They're not especially expensive and it's the handiest way to go. There's motorway pretty much all the way to Cardiff.
