    Justine Henin to retire

The world's number one female tennis player, Justine Henin is set to announce her retirement.

At just 25 years of age, the Belgian star who has 41 Women's Tennis Association singles titles to her credit and having earned over US$19million in prize money, will confirm her plans to walk away from the game at a press conference at 4pm local time in Belgium tomorrow.

Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad has reported the impending retirement.

Henin has seven Grand Slam wins to her credit having won the Australian Open in 2004, the French Open in 2003, 2005, 2006 and 2007, along with the US Open in 2003 and 2007.

Twice, Henin has been a finalist at Wimbledon.

Last week Henin was knocked out of the Berlin Open in the third round and this week, citing tiredness and poor form pulled out of the Italian Open.

Bit of a shock, although she hasn't been quite right over the last few weeks.

Burnout. I'm sure she will make a return when she's taken a break. A big loss to the womens tennis circuit.

What a shame. Class act and best backhand in game bar none. Marriage breakup hasnt helped but hopefully she takes time off and returns. Still young!

Just watched her interview there and by the looks of it, she wont be coming back.

I doubt she'll be back as well! She seemed really burnt-out and fatigued the past few weeks. If her passion for the game reignites (and she's still young) she might make a comeback.
But it will be interesting to see who will win the French Open women's title this year!:)
