well finally my new baby arrived, have to say ive been well impressed with it, the finish is beautiful on it and it feels nice and weighty.,
One of the main things that attracted me to this gun was the ELGM, the finish on it is very nice and its very easy to remove it with the quick release mechanism on it. when its locked it holds onto the gun very securely as theres no wobble in it at all. One really nice feature of the gun is the quick release barrel. all it takes to remove the barrel is the turn of the screw on the front and the barrel including hopup all just come out the front.
also when you rack back the cocking lever on the side the port locks open making it easier to adjust the hopup without having to hold back the lever. when your finished with it you simply press the release button on the left side of the gun and it fires forward with a nice quality metal "clink"
I took a load of photos of it with the new dboys version for comparason, although really nice, the dboys cant really touch the quality on this thing.
oh and the EGLM wont fit on a dboys version due to the front rail being about 10mm too long for the launcher. With the launcher mounted though the gun feels very balanced and its very simple to fire the grenade with the same trigger finger you fire the gun with. Everything on the gun is full ambidextrous too, the cocking lever can be set on either side and the EGLM actually tilts left and right when fully open to make it easier to fit the grenades in.

    Anyway, some pics,.:)
Notice the barrel is removed in this pic, I forgot to put it back in for the photo.,:D

The lower one is the STAR version, you'll notice the dboys one has a slightly different shade on it compared with the star.

On the left is the dboys mag, it comes with a hicap and the star one on the right is a mid cap.

The flash made this one look a little odd but you can see the colour on the STAR is more uniform than that of the Dboys clone.

    The EGLM serial number,

You can see in this one how the barrel of the launcher tilts inwards to make it easier to load the grenades,

The Dboys one has 3 locking positions on the stock as seen in the pics compared to the STAR 6 position stock,

The one behind is the STAR one, you can see the little black locking clip that releases the barrel. Both have a ocking front sight, the star one needed tightening up at first but it feels a lot sturdier now than even the dboys one.

In this pic you can see how they lead the wiring back to the folding stock, on the dboys its just regular wiring whereas on the STAR the current goes through the hinge which has copper washers inside it, the VFC also has this, the G&G doesnt as far as i know.,

The hop up port on the STAR, Its in the locked back position at the moment and can be released from the catch on the other side of the gun, the Dboys one doesnt lock back like this but when the bolt is released on the dboys it fires forward with a lovely metalic clink noise.,

These are shots of the trade marks on the two rifles, dont mind the dirt on the dboys one, i should have cleaned it off before the pic., not bad on either rifle,

So all in all im very impressed with the gun so far, all that remains to be seen is how well it performs in a skirmish which i'll find out tomorrow and report back., :)

out of the box the STAR is firing a low of 317 and a high of 320, a variation of only 3 fps over about 15-20 shots., the ROF on it is pretty impressive too even though i have only ran it on an 8.4 so far.

The dboys was firing a low of 316 and a high of 325 over about the same amount of rounds, the variable ia a little higher and its not as consistant as the STAR but concidering the difference in the price thats very little to be worrying about., The ROF on this is decent too, about what you'd expect from a dboys M4 really.,

I have to say i was very impressed with the quality in the clone compared to the highend, its probably the best and closest copy ive seen to date, up there with the JG 416 which is only let down by the fact that it has a plastic body,. the internals in the dboys as decent too and the gun feels weighty and solid to hold, I can see this being very popular now that i campare it to the high end and from what ive heard dboys might be releasing their own EGLM to suit it, ( the star ones doesnt fit),.,

id reccomend both of them, the Star if your a gear queer and want the best of the best for around €600, (lemming/Bullets im looking at you.,:p) or the dboys which is a perfectly usble AEG for skirmishing and has a really nice finish to boot only without the EGLM, :)

will update with more info when i get the chance to shoot someone with it.,:D

nope,. i read somewhere online that it did, however ive tried it on loads of different M4s and its way off, the mag well dont even fit into the EGLM.,
