Bespoke / Tailored suit - where to buy?

Being of a 36-inch leg length, I find it impossible to get a suit that fits well. No suits on hangers in shops ever have a 36-inch leg, the last suit I bought they had the trousers take down from a 34 but they don't look good at all.

I've heard of a guy who comes to one of the hotels in Ballsbridge (Bewleys or Four Seasons I think), takes your measurements and gets them sent off to Aisa. You get your suit in a couple of weeks, it obviously fits well and the cost is usually a very reasonable €200 or thereabouts.

I think the guy goes under the name Mr Asha - I've found one other post here on him but the jury seems to be out. Can anyone testify to having purchased a good suit from him? How do I found out when he will next be in town?

Failing that, does anyone know where/how I would go about getting a suit (or even trousers that come in 36") in Dublin, for a reasonable price?

    Thanks in advance

Some guy takes your measurements so you can get a suit from Asia? Why not just get one here? Is it cheaper? If it's cheaper to get it sent over from Asia with all extra costs (transport and the like) than to buy one here then you'd have to wonder how much the poor buggers who are making it get paid!!

I'd suggest Magees on Wicklow Street or Kennedy&McSharry on Nassau Street, failing that a quick search in this forum will bring up loads of threads about getting tailored suits in Dublin. I'm just suggesting the above two because Magees suppy the suits for the Irish Rugby Team and Kennedy&McSharry fit them so they're probably used to bigger sizes.

If I was getting one, I'd try Louis Copeland, chances are you'd pay a bit more but he has an excellent reputation.

does anyone know of any places up north, especially in Belfast, that do this kind of service really well (a la Louis Copeland)... i just wanna take advantage of this exchange rate at the moment and i could really do with another suit :D

I have had suits made by John Asha. He comes to Dublin approximately once per month. The suits are unlikely to be as cheap as €200. I have been complimented on the suits. Be prepared to haggle very hard with him.
