I think he wants to try out both types of fox hunting. Is there one DVD that will cover both. In fact it doesen't have to be a Warrener DVD as long as it's good on the subject.

I've a good few of them... Bought when I was youngER and dumbER (mostly secondhand in fairness). You'll learn more on decent hunting websites Clive, trust me. He does a very good squeak but other than that he's trying to sell you stuff, usually off Debens. If you do get one, watch out for any sentence that contains "...in my opinion..." that'll be the one with the £££ signs over it. If you're sick in bed or stuck in I guess they're worth a watch. But the sites are a lot cheaper, whatever you do DON'T buy then new, they're very over priced.

I have a couple of Warrener DVDs, like John siad, you will learn more from a good book or website, the Warrener is a bit full of himself and likes the sound of his own voice.
Read o good book and search around here for tips and then nothing will teach you better then personal experience and trial and error.

I have to agree with the 2 lads on this one, the warreners dvds are not worth their grossly inflated price and i find him a bit hard to listen too myself..order a monthly copy of sporting rifle magazine, lots of good rifle shooting and lamping tips in it, hell learn a lot more from one or two lamping trips with experienced lampers than he will watching the warrener, and your son could begin his foxing career by watching forestry edges during august/september with a good pair of binocs and spot the big cubs
on the forestry edges..they like to mess about on good evenings before venturing further out under cover of darkness..pick a spot where you have good coverage of a sizeable forestry edge , be in location an hour before darkness sit in a good spot and quietly watch, if nothing is seen pick another spot and so on etc..youll soon spot them..when you do , be in no rush to shoot..check the range at which they are at..cos they will come out
at roughly the same spot the next evening..so go back early in the day and measure it by pacing and checking your paces for distance, or better still invest in a rangefinder ,they are well down in price..when you know the precise range you can then set up your scope and ambush them the
following evening..i shot 3 big cubs in the same location last year using this method and i only checked the one forestry although it was a good fox haunt..but if you do the looking youll soon see them, try this and hell soon nail his first fox...

That sounds like a good way to spend a few evenings out in the fields even if I /we never see any fox's.
Going out again this evening/tonight to walk the fields by my sons house but I will take the shotgun as well as the 22lr. That will be the first time out with the SG for me and him.
I can't think of a better way to spend these lovely sunny day's.

if you are looking for a good fox calling dvd try tom varney "fox frenzy".its an auzzie dvd on fox shooting,a little different than our on version of fox shooting but really enjoyable, his son shoots several foxes(using a .223) running away after calling them up to his "feet" and tom snr using a plain old side by side,
these dvds make the warrener look like an amatuer ,pm me and ill see if i have a spare one i could loan you

Reminds me of an old neighbour that we had back a few years ago,
he actually believed that everything that you saw on tv was happening
in real time and he had no concept of video taping and such like.
His greatest hero was john wayne, and one day he came in to visit another neighbour and announced " MY GOD" , he said, "that johnny wayne is some man" as he waved his walking stick in the air." he was shot through the shoulder with an injun arrow on friday night, and hes back fighting them today as hard as ever!":D

Looked up a few John Wayne quotes the last night some of the are priceless especially this one..

"If everything isn't black and white, I say, 'Why the hell not?"

Man of integrity who believed in keeping things simple. Can't argue with that. Spinning in his grave with the bull**** that goes on today, world has gone to the dogs.

    Where's me walking aid...
