Is it true that if you are in charge of a taxi you are allowed to pi*ss in public.

I am not sure if it’s an urban legend but I believe that there is some old bylaw covering taxis that have not changed since the days of the horse and cart. In the old days in certain circumstances you were not supposed to leave your "taxi" (Then horse and cart) unattended, so the owners were allowed to take a pi**s in public. I believe that this law has never been changed.

heard that alright. i also heard that you can legally take a dump at the back wheel on the passenger side and that a garda has to let you piss in his cap if you need to

It hasn't been changed, but I'm afraid it's not as simple as that.
For a taxi driver to take a leak in public, there must be a bale of hay in the rear storage compartment, i.e. the boot.
And they must take said leak against the rear right wheel of said taxi.

    Easily taken care of :D.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I think that only applies to pregnant women :pac:

I heard about a similar law from those days where taxi drivers had to keep a bale of hay in their boot being still on the books. I'd assume a common sense approach is taken, i.e. if you use the first rule to get off indecent exposure charges, we'll charge you with not having the hay. :D

Obsolete laws are the source of the non made-up 'dumb laws' that you see being forwarded.

I also remember some southern state in the US still had a law allowing slavery up until very recently!!! (though in this case it was overruled by some federal law or something)
