need help with a chemistry question

    there are two forms of this type of question here they are;

    a)solid cobalt dinitrate is dissolved in h20. What is the resulting complex in the solution and how many d electrons does this complex have.
    b) exact same question but instead zinc dinitrate is dissolved in h20.

    i'd be greatful for any help with this question. Just can't get my head around it. thanks.
